SOCIETE BOUZGUENDA FRERES : SBF commissioned our consultancy « BUT Géologie » to carry out a pollution remediation study for the welding, painting and storage yard located at « El Agba », Manouba Governorate.

Our assignment with SOCIETE BOUZGUENDA FRERES (SBF) involves carrying out the following tasks:

• Describing the baseline condition of the welding, painting and storage yard and the natural resources around the site that may be affected.
• Providing a detailed description of the yard and presenting the operating method and operations in the various workshops.
• Analysing the foreseeable direct and indirect effects of the project on the environment.
• Listing the measures envisaged to eliminate, reduce and compensate for adverse environmental effects.
• Preparing the Environmental Management Plan «P.G.E».

As a reminder, this pollution remediation study is an essential decision-making tool for the developer when designing the project, through consideration of environmental constraints and a commitment to addressing them in order to reduce nuisances during maintenance and repair work at the yard.

Our assignment with SBF involves carrying out the following studies:

• Geophysical prospecting to detect buried archaeological remains using a geophysical technique based on the propagation and reflection of electromagnetic waves, « ground-penetrating radar ». This ground-penetrating radar survey was carried out over an area of 5000 m². It is accompanied by a technical report covering the measurements taken in the field, interpretation of the results and proposed recommendations.
• A ground-penetrating radar survey to determine the route of the ONAS pipeline beneath a road section between PT 142 and PT 287 in the saline area -SIAP, Sfax Governorate.
