Project description

Carthage Cement commissioned our consultancy « BUT Géologie » to carry out projects relating to the Djebel RESSAS industrial quarry on the one hand and the crushing and screening unit on the other.

Our assignment with Carthage Cement consists of carrying out the following studies:

  • Conducting a geological study and reserve estimation, and developing an extraction and rehabilitation method for the industrial aggregate quarry of CARTHAGE CEMENT.
  • Preparation of detailed geological mapping of the site at a scale of 1/50 000, supported by illustrative geological cross-sections.
  • Preparation of lithostratigraphic logs and correlations of the ground strata following analysis of the results of the non-core drilling campaign.
  • Determination of the characteristics of outcropping geological formations (lithologies, boundaries, thicknesses, extents…).
  • Delineation of clayey, marly and carbonate ground, proposal of a rational extraction method for the concession, and estimation of geological reserves.
  • Preparation of silica and lime isograde maps following geochemical correlations, and lithological zoning maps delineating areas of siliceous clay, marly clay, marl and marly limestone within the study site.
