The company Briquèterie Kalâa Sghira « B.K.S» commissioned our consultancy BUT Géologie to carry out environmental impact assessments for the projects to operate three clay quarries: Choebet El Maa, Oued Echab and Sidi Dhaher quarries, in the delegation of Zaremdine, Governorate of Monastir.

Our assignment with BKS consists of carrying out the following studies:

• Preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments for the three quarries owned by BKS: Oued Chab quarry, Choebet El Maa quarry and Sidi Dhaher quarry, to identify and analyse the foreseeable direct and indirect environmental effects of the projects to open these quarries. This is followed by listing appropriate measures to eliminate, reduce and offset adverse environmental impacts and estimating the corresponding costs, and finally preparing an Environmental Management Plan.
• Geological prospecting/ Site feasibility study for the Oued Chab and Sidi Dhaher sites to assess reserves according to deposit quality.

Hydrological characterisation of rainwater retention basins at the clay quarries owned by « Briqueterie Kalâa Sghira »

The company Briquèterie Kalâa Sghira « B.K.S» commissioned us to carry out a hydrological characterisation study of rainwater retention basins in the three clay quarries: Choebet El Maa, Oued Echab and Sidi Dhaher quarries, in the delegation of Zaremdine, Governorate of Monastir, and to propose locations for local rainwater collection reservoirs within the three clay quarries, to reduce the likelihood of flooding during exceptional flood events.
