Advances in 3D Modeling with Leapfrog Geo

As part of our ongoing work in geological characterization and deposit potential assessment, BUT Geology has just completed a three-dimensional geological and geochemical model of a carbonate deposit located in Tunisia. This achievement is based on the use of Leapfrog Geo, a software widely recognized for its powerful 3D modeling capabilities and its dynamic, data-driven approach.

By integrating drillhole data and the digital terrain model, we were able to accurately represent the internal architecture of the deposit while mapping key geochemical parameters derived from core analyses and destructive drilling. This approach made it possible to:

  • Identify high-potential zones through a facies classification based on geochemical quality,
  • Gain a more detailed understanding of the lateral and vertical variability of the carbonate formations,
  • Develop a robust model capable of supporting mine planning and resource management optimization.

This study highlights the added value of advanced modeling tools: by transforming raw geological and analytical data into a clear and intuitive visual model, it becomes possible to make informed decisions, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen the overall understanding of the deposit.

At BUT Geology, we continue to invest in innovative technologies to provide our partners with modern, efficient, and scientifically robust solutions.
